Last Updated on 10/02/2020 by steveperry

As an official event sponsor, Etac R82, will be exhibiting with its chosen charity partner Newlife and showcasing more paediatric assistive solutions at the Posture Mobility Group Conference.

PMG Conference. Stand 15. 16–17 July 2019, Telford International Centre, St Quentin Gate, Telford TF3 4JH. Open from 8am daily.

PMG’s annual conference provides education, an industry exhibition and networking events for professionals working in the field of posture and wheeled mobility. The Etac R82 showcase will include popular examples from both its adult and paediatric ranges. Convaid EZ Rider, Cruiser and Rodeo buggies will accompany the R82 Stingray and Cricket buggy and Kudu paediatric wheelchair. The market-leading x:panda dynamic seating system will also be available alongside adult Cross 5 and Prio wheelchairs. In terms of pressure management and seating stability, the specialist air-cell Star range from Etac will be available – supported by live pressure mapping demonstrations.

The paediatric content on the Etac R82 stand at PMG will be supported by representation from Newlife, the Disabled Children’s Charity. R82 supplies products to Newlife so it can provide its Emergency Equipment Loan Service. Newlife delivers the UK’s only rapid response equipment loan service so children, who are at significant risk of injury or in urgent need because of their shortened life expectancy, can receive specialist equipment free of charge commonly within 72 hours. In addition, Newlife can provide funding of equipment through its grant scheme so disabled children can benefit from greater ability and comfort in life. Delegates at the conference will be able to gain more details regarding Newlife’s services and how the best outcomes can be achieved for families in difficult situations.

From an educational point of view, Etac R82 will be continuing its CPD focus with a presentation by Jo McConnell, OT and Etac Education Manager, entitled: ‘Ability Based SeatingTM – Bridging the gap between medium active and multi-functional wheelchairs’. This is one of the breakout sessions and will be at 14:15 on Wednesday 17th July. In a succinct and engaging session Jo is also presenting Star Air Cell Cushions for ‘Pitch your Product! at 11:30 on Tuesday 16th. There will also be informal educational sessions available on the Etac stand from Jo and Marika Tornqvist, Etac Global Product Manager for Manual Wheelchairs. Content will include optimising pressure management, evidence-based results and cost-effective product prescribing.  Pressure mapping will also be available on the stand.
