All our members sign up to BHTA’s Code of Practice – the only one in the industry overseen by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) – demonstrating their commitment to high levels of customer care that go above and beyond their legal obligations, giving customers confidence.
The Care Act includes a clause creating a duty for local authorities to signpost consumers to appropriate suppliers of equipment following an assessment. A recent CTSI audit said that “membership of BHTA would be a good indicator and would help local authorities to discharge this duty”. The audit also said BHTA’s was “a generally excellent code of practice that is well run and effectively managed”.
